Agriculture is one of the industrial sectors that needs more innovation because national and internation regulations are severely limiting the use of currently used chemicals (The Farm to Fork Strategy itends to reduce by 50% the chemicals used in farming). For this reason, it is necessary to provide farmers with novel fully organic crop biostimulation and biocontrol solutions that can replicate the effectiveness of chemicals, replacing them or reducing their doses.
Our unfair advantage, compared to all other organic solutions, is the capacity to obtain with one single production system both ozonated oils with a biostimulant effect and with biocontrol properties, with a direct effect on pathogens. This unique feature is made possible by differential loading of ozone inside vegetable oils, yielding active substances with different characteristics and effects

Ozonated oil is authorised by the MIPAAF (Italian Ministry of Agriculture) as “Corroborante”, a special category of organic products that improve plant responses to biotic and abiotic stresses. It is scientifically proven that ozonated oil activates secondary metabolites of plants inducing and increasing resistance mechanisms. These compounds, such as polyphenols, vitamins, trace elements and enzymes, contribute to the prevention of cell degenerative processes by significantly increasing the presence of chlorophyll in plants, whose action is comparable to the human immune system.
Ozonated oil has shown great potential to be registered as a Biostimulant at European level in two categories under EC Reg. no. 2019/1009:
b) Improving tolerance to abiotic stress
Ozonated oil releases oxygen when it touches the leaf surface, this restore the membrane of altered cells or damaged plant tissue and improve the responses of plants under abiotic stress. The oxygen released contributes to chlorophyll synthesis, significantly increasing chlorophyll levels in the plant (analysis using the SPAD method), enabling the fast activation of defence mechanisms against stresses such as the concentrations of polyphenolic compounds and ascorbic acid.
c) Improving qualitative features
The biological activity of ozonated oil revealed an increase in nutrition and health on treated leaves and fruits. Secondary metabolites mainly improved are polyphenols (flavonoids, phenolic acids, stilbenes and lignans), vitamins (vitamin C, vitamin E, beta-carotene), trace elements (selenium, zinc) and enzymes (glutathione, coenzyme Q10, uric acid) also potentially improving the shelf-life.
Our ozonated oil, modulated with a specific amount of ozone is able to achieve biocontrol effects and can act as an insecticide-fungicide that by physical contact mode of action that allows simultaneous control of fungi, mites and phytophagous insects present on crops during the treatment. Specifically, it penetrates and oxidizes the cell walls of the external organs (spores, conidia, mycelia, sporangia) of fungi, which then encounter devitalization. As a fungicide, it provides physical and instantaneous action on pathogens with a significant reduction in the inoculum potential of the diseases, preventing secondary infection from plant to plant.
Our ozonated oil can be used during the entire seasonal cycle, distributed by foliar applications, irrigation or fertigation, after being diluted in water. Due to its multitarget efficacy, ozonated oil can be used on all types of crops, such as fruit plants, horticultural crops and cereals. The efficacy is independent by the physiological stage of plants and its physical mode of action ensures the absence of resistance, making it an excellent partner in various pest control strategies in all conventional or integrated defenses.
Multiple benefits in a single product:
Ozonated water has been used in agriculture to exploit the biocidal and sterilising power of ozone. Unfortunately, ozone is only physically dissolved in water and not chemically bound, leading to a life-time of a few minutes.. As a consequence, ozonated water must be produced directly on field , severely limiting its scalability and its use.
